Working
in close co-operation with pharmacists, chemists and cosmetic experts,
Nadine Salembier
developed this original and exclusive method, testing it successfully
under medical supervision. For
many years, thousands of women have tried this method and are
convinced that it is efficient. |
A
- PURPOSE :
The
method's main advantage lies in its capacity to deal with local or larger
areas. For reasons not yet known, fat and fluid concentrations only appear in
specific, well-known areas. These areas are primarily located around the
abdomen, thighs, arms and back. To prove efficient, our slimming method will
treat these areas individually. It is recommended to the aesthetician to read
the paragraphs relating to cellulite (see following pages).
B
- ACTIONS:
The
method's efficiency has been scientifically proven in hospitals. At the beauty
salon, muscle stimulation is often associated with the technique. This makes
it possible to stress Silhouette's major effects :
·
slimming
action :
a direct action on fat and (local) cellulite clusters, as well as on the water
metabolism.
·
firming
action : strengthening
the tissues by slowing the fat-fixing process, eliminating excess fat, and
bringing firmness to the skin.
C
- RESULTS
The
are remarkable indeed and measurable (1 to 3 cms) after 5 sessions only.
D
- FREQUENCY OF THE TREATMENT
For
a cellulite dating from 0 to 10 years, a 5-session cure will be recommended,
at the rate of 2 sessions a month. The treatment can be carried on without
danger according to the importance of the cellulite and age of the client.
A
change in the waist does not always go along with a loss of weight. As a
matter of fact, this is not the purpose of the treatment. Instead Silhouette
is meant to act directly on fat and cellulite (locally or globally
according to the needs of the clients) rather than to help her lose water.
The
results obtained can be enhanced by the use of Slimming Gels and Essential Oil
at home.

- Instructions for use :
·
A
first massage or an infra-red lamp treatment will bring sufficient
vasodilatation to the skin.
·
This
preliminary massage is carried out with the following products.
·
Concentrated
Top 80 Slimming Fluid, applied directly on the epidermis during the massage
until complete penetration.
·
The
Essential Oil no. 6 - Body Softness-Firmness.
·
The
sponges are soaked with Slimming Fluid, which is diluted in water (100 cc
Fluid with 200 cc water).
·
Place
the warm sponges on the parts requiring treatment. It is preferable
that the sponges have the same temperature as the body, so as to maintain the
vasodilatation of the skin.
·
The
latex straps should be very tightly adjusted so as to have a uniform contact
between the sponges and the skin, making the absorption of the solution as
complete as can.
·
Remark
about the muscle stimulation
: the use of a stimulator, though not essential, is advisable. Its combination
with the traditional care techniques permits a simultaneous slimming and
firming. With low current stimulators, place the electrodes below the
compresses. With strong current stimulators, the electrodes should be fixed
above the compresses, between the latex straps and the sponges.
·
Duration
: From 45 to 55 minutes, according to the age of the cellulite.
·
After
lifting the sponges, end the care by applying the Top 81 or Top 80 Slimming
Gel with a quick massage until full penetration of the product. You can also
use the Essential Oil no. 6 and end up with an active massage.
G
- Frequency of treatment
: At least twice a week and with a minimum of 48 hours between the sessions.
To be successful, the routine treatment should not stop during menstruation.
The treatment should take place at least twice a week.
Practical
and Technical Recommendations
·
When
using the sponges for the first time, soak them, press then firmly and spray
with lotion. In this way you will only use the correct quantity of product.
·
Never
wring the sponges. The sponges can be sewn up together if necessary.
·
For
hygienic reasons and to lower cost, the same sponges should be used by the
same client for a full care. Store the sponges in a ventilated plastic bag.
·
After
a treatment, the sponges will be re-used after careful washing and
sterilisation.
·
Latex
sheets are washed in light soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Apply talcum powder
when dry. Never put latex in contact with a heat source.

Thanks
to its high concentration and rich composition, the slimming gel acts
directly on the metabolism of fat elements (greasy spots and
cellulite) which account for the formation of orange skin. Composition
: |
Another
property of the components is also to strengthen the skin by hampering
a great deal the fixing process of greases. They facilitate the
elimination of excess elements, prevent orange skin and restore the
tissues' strength. |
The
rapid results are prolonged even after the end of the treatment
through the principles of osmotherapy (scientifically proved by
medical tests). The visible and measurable results which have been
obtained are reinforced by the (facultative) action of muscular
electro-stimulation. The reshaping and the loss of volume will be
obtained more rapidly. |
-
Amino-acids and extracts of vegetal proteins (powerful biodiffuser ensuring a
quick impregnation of the product and the freeing of the active components.

If
this care is new to You, It is Probably
just
as New to Your Client
Even
if all that follows seems obvious to you, it will definitely help improve the
communication flow between you, as a professional beautician, and your
clients, who are perhaps discovering something they knew nothing about :
slimming treatments.
Our
suggestions :
1.
Read
this file thoroughly. you will find it very useful to answer all the questions
put forward by your clients.
2.
Arouse
the interest of your clients for this particular care : set up a display next
to your reception desk. Take advantage of the advertisement material you have
received. Display all your slimming products (Slimming Gels, Essential oils,
etc..). Put them forward so that everybody can see them.
3.
If
this care is new to you, it is also new to your client. It is high time you
advertise the novelty in your shop and perhaps you make a special price on
that particular care. You could also make a special price to launch the care
and its specific products.
4.
Do not hesitate to give the first care for free. Your client will feel more
secure and will understand more about the progress of the care and its price.
She will see that Silhouette is a comprehensive care and that your work is
very important. Today, our clients definitely prefer being in contact with
another human being than with steel cold machines.
5.
The care is normally sold in ten sessions - with one or two free sessions -
following your price and business policy.
6.
The
biometric form attached will permit you to follow the development of the
treatment and display the professional aspect of the care.
What
about your sales arguments
1)
A scientifically proven treatment.
All
tests (see documents attached) have been carried out in hospitals. According
to the statistics, 85% of the treatments have been successful.
2)
The test of time.
The
first tests were carried out in 1977, thus 26 years ago. Since then,
Silhouette Osmose Top 80 has been used world-wide. Thousands of women have
tested the treatment and are convinced of its efficiency.
3)
The results.
The
main feature of the treatment is to tackle directly cellulite and fat
clusters. For this reason, to lose two or three centimetres off the
"riding breeches" is already a surprisingly good result. It is up to
you to understand the difference between "miracle treatments" and efficient,
scientific treatments.
4)
Your know-how.
After
a short training period (one demonstration is often enough) you will be able
to perform a specific treatment in the range of body cares and slimming
techniques. You must bear in mind that you have chosen a very original care,
that will certainly impress and appeal to your clients.
5)
Your advice.
Slimming
treatment will only give satisfying results if followed very carefully. As a
professional beautician, it is your job to perform the treatment properly.
Your client must also be made aware that the results will be even better if
she really wants to achieve this slimming objective. Also tell them about
other hygienic ways of life, less sedentary, with more physical exercise, etc.
Understanding
Cellulite to Treat the problem.
Because
the inelegant effects of cellulite do preoccupy most of our clients, we are
constantly concerned by the development of reliable treatments to answer their
needs. On the other hand, our clients are more and more demanding and are not
satisfied with half-measures. They want efficient, concrete and rapid action.
Today of course, we are limited by the present state of science and we shall
certainly not promise miracles, because we do not want to lose the trust you
have in us. Much time and many reference-books would be necessary to
understand the ins and outs of excess weight and fat. But that is not our aim.
We want simple and clear answers to understand the problem.
Cellulite,
also called orange skin effect, is the result of a mechanism that breaks down
as follows:
-
The control centre
-
The transmission system
-
The local effects of slow dissipating fat concentrations.
1
- CONTROL CENTRE :
We
are mainly talking about ovarian oestrogens whose normal functioning, although
sometimes slightly excessive, provokes water retention in areas located
outside the main blood circulation system. This can sometimes reduce the blood
flow, and this decrease will be felt at kidney level. The consequence will be
the secretion of "retinence" which is in turn stimulated by the
oestrogens. This fairly complex pattern results into the formation of
aldosterone, a hormone whose action through the suprarenals will increase the
retention of water and salt.
2
- TRANSMISSION :
The
transmission does not take place through
hormones directly but via a relatively intricate intermediary system. In
short, adenosine diphosphoric acid is produced. This substance confers the
cells enough energy to move water and salt. Their combining to other
metabolisms and food elements (sugar, fat, protein) leads to the formation of
cellulite.
3
- LOCATION
We
still lack sufficient knowledge on the subject to determine accurately where
cellulite concentrates. We however know that the sex of the subject plays a
decisive role. We know e.g. that the cells of the conjunctive tissue are not
located at the same places for man and woman.
Finally,
the aesthetician herself can notice with precision where the fat areas are
located. She thus knows that she has to treat these very areas.
It
is a well-known fact that both the skin and the connective tissues serve as
some sort of water-tank, and if we add to all this some undesirable outside
effects such as thyroid disorders, various disturbances and specific
medicines, we do have a better understanding of the origins of cellulite.
These above tanks have a working of their own. They filled up first and empty
last: In other words : treating them through a diet or with diuretics will
only slightly modify fat clusters. Finding a solution to the problem of
cellulite is not that easy.
How
To Cure Cellulite ?
What
Measures To take ?
Scientific
progress have given birth to many a treatment method.
As
time went by, many specific fields of activities became involved (medical,
paramedical, aesthetics, of course, cosmetics industry, ...). Each field has
come up with its own solutions. Let us however underline once and for all that
each medical or paramedical activity should remain on its own grounds,
although many cures appear similar to one another.
For
the beauticians, the best way to approach the problem is to understand how,
why and when cellulite appears. The aspect of each fat cluster will help us
determine the proper treatment that has to be applied locally with great
energy.
Each
beauty treatment will consider the following points :
1.
analyse
the figure and determine the parts to be treated:
2. Break down the treatment as follows
·
A
preliminary local massage applied to each thick cellulite area;
·
A
direct treatment on cellulite clusters;
·
End
the session with a dynamic, softening, moisturising and strengthening massage.
The
physiological aspect of the massage is very important because it should
include the following features :
· Act directly on the skin's vascular system.
·
Have
an influence on the skin's hormonal functions,
·
Have
an effect on the spreading and the course of the interstitial fluids,
·
Stimulate
the sebaceous secretions.
The
Treatments
Once
again we must remind you that the unsightly cellulite is always located in
very specific places. As far as woman is concerned, the clusters are very
often situated on the abdomen and thighs. These fat patches can appear quite
early, even with very young, thin girls.
Once
again we must stress that these fat patches are the first to appear and the
last to disappear. Be careful with the spectacular treatments that simply
annihilate water retention in the tissues. They have no effect whatsoever on
cellulite itself or the fat cluster. The difficulty of choosing the treatment
lies in the fact that this treatment must have an immediate effect on the
cellulite. If the action is efficient, its effect may be measured in
centimetres, although it will not necessarily be accompanied by a loss of
weight. The loss of volume is perhaps the only way to measure the
effectiveness of a slimming treatment after a certain time or a certain amount
of sessions.
We
therefore have to be careful when we choose a slimming method. A slimming
method that has proved its efficiency for many years and with a generation of
beauticians can justify its worthiness with a large percentage of success.
There is no such thing as a cellulite miracle treatment and many cosmetic
making companies know that for sure. You must always bear in mind that an
efficient method will always tackle the problem locally and the effect will
only be felt on cellulite and fat areas.
The
secret of efficiency and success.
The
aesthetician has a lot of assets to meet the growing needs of her client as
far as slimming techniques are concerned :
·
a
practical, vigorous massage, strong and well measured to loosen the cellulite
deposits from their connective tissues and to prepare them for the next
treatment.
·
treating
the cellulite areas with a product having an effect on the metabolism of fat
and water.
·
ending
with a moisturising and slimming massage (a gel is advisable) which will bring
a protective hydro-lipid film to the skin and reinforce the treated parts.
This last operation should take place inside a cabin and be repeated by the
client after each treatment with a gel having the same properties.
·
the
electrical stimulation is also recommended because it can speed up and
increase the penetration of the product and strengthen the muscles.
A
beautician has much to offer in this particular field.
It is up to you to take advantage of these possibilities .
